About us

In Germany, and also here in Saxony-Anhalt, many tons of food are destroyed every day, even though they are still fit for consumption. At the same time, there are also many people in this federal state who do not have enough food to eat.

The non-profit food banks in Saxony-Anhalt create a bridge between abundance and scarcity between Altmark and Burgenlandkreis. They rescue food and goods for daily use and thus support people affected by poverty.

With their fast and unbureaucratic help, the food banks stand for solidarity and humanity against food waste. We want to make the daily lives of Tafel customers easier and thus provide them with a modest financial margin for social participation.
