About us
FORTE CULTURA is a non-profit organisation based in Berlin. As a European Cultural Route, FORTE CULTURA helps to preserve the significant cultural heritage of fortresses and make them accessible to everyone. The fortress heritage, built in various eras as military defences, are today places of peace and culture for everyone. They tell the story of Europe and serve as a reminder of the devastating consequences of countless wars. The Cultural Route comprises over 80 sites across 17 countries under the motto "FORTE CULTURA - Fortresses for Culture and Peace".
FORTE CULTURA e.V. is firmly committed to the preservation of human rights, democracy and the rule of law. We promote international understanding, a spirit of internationalism and tolerance through the cultural heritage of these fortifications as a testament to European history. We condemn all forms of violence, racism and homophobia.
