About us

Promoting education and training in the center for children and young people with intellectual disabilities in Addis Ababa. The “Center for Mentally Handicapped Children” was founded in 1986 to offer children with intellectual disabilities an education that meets their individual needs in order to enable a dignified life in Ethiopia. The number of children is currently around 400. The center tries to provide help in the following areas:
Early intervention, preschool, elementary school according to Maria Montessori, pre-vocational classes, life and work training for young people, Saturday program, social work, income-generating measures for the center, (school garden, wood workshop and much more) The center currently needs a new school bus for the daily transport of the children Pupils.
