About us

The German-Ukrainian Society Rhein-Neckar is a non-profit association, founded in 1992 - after the nuclear disaster in Chernobyl - with German and Ukrainian members who work on a voluntary basis. With the beginning of the Russian war of aggression, we focused on humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian civilian population, hospitals, Ukrainian communities and humanitarian organizations.
Another focus is the topic of education. Since 2009, the association has been running a Ukrainian Saturday school in Heidelberg on a volunteer basis, offering classes for Ukrainian language and history to children aged 4-14.
The society also organizes events on history, culture and current topics related to Ukraine.
