About us

When the state elementary school in Tantow was closed in 2005, there were two options: cave in or become active and continue to run the elementary school ourselves. The parents and residents of the community, located in the northeast of the beautiful Uckermark region (state of Brandenburg), did not hesitate. They founded a school support association with the goal of establishing an elementary school with preschool and after-school care in the village that would provide the best possible education for all children in the region. Whether big or small pockets, old residents or newcomers, Ukrainians, Afghans, Poles or Germans: our school is open to all children in the region! From its humble beginnings with nine first-graders at the time, the school has grown into a school that currently offers around 100 children the space to learn and develop together in a family environment.
