About us

Within the organisation foodsharing we are noumerous volunteers saving food that is meant to be thrown away but actually still edible. Since 2014 foodsharing Frankfurt is cooperating with bakeries, supermarkets, farmers markets and other businesses where we collect food that has exceeded its expiring date or is slightly damaged and therefore is not going to be sold by the company. This is then shared with friends, neighbours, collegues or other people who are interested in reducing food waste and also brought to social ameneties or to so-called "Fairteiler". That way we were able to save more than 1.520 tons (by autumn 2022) of still edible foods and give it back to the consumer even though it was intended to be thrown away. This precious food was produced to be eaten and not to be wasted!
