About us

The Umhambi Orphan Project is a private initiative founded in 2007 by residents of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. She has made it her mission to offer orphans a perspective by ensuring the children's basic needs and giving them access to education.
We are a non-profit organization based in Mainz, Germany. The aim of our work is the organizational and financial support of the Umhambi project in Zimbabwe in the following areas:
- Financing of school fees, school uniforms and learning materials
- Provision of food for needy children and, if necessary, their families
- Promotion of the local public health system (especially in connection with HIV / AIDS)
- Financing extracurricular training
- Promotion of development cooperation
- Financing of projects according to the motto “helping people to help themselves”
- Promotion of equality between men and women
- General support in emergency situations (e.g. corona or cholera pandemic, famine)
