About us

Almost one in five children in Berlin's daycare centers does not receive sufficient support in acquiring the German language and the associated general knowledge. Most of these children come from low-income households, often with a migrant background. When they start school, the children are one and a half to two years behind their peers from well-off or normal homes in terms of their language development and their wealth of experience. They rarely catch up. We want to support these KiTa children in their language acquisition and general development with volunteer language mentors.
