About us
CAI is based in Rubanda District. Rubanda Town Council Rubanda District. The area is remote due to the hilly terrain in most areas, the road network is poor with most areas only connected to urban centers by murram. The increase in number of orphans has been compounded by the emergence of HIV/AIDS in Rubanda District. Households affected by and/or infected with HIV/AIDS have less time, energy and resources to engage in reproductive activities and hence become poorer and poorer. Kigezi region has approximately 1,205,201 people. The existing poor socio-economic and infrastructure situation that reinforces poverty in Rubanda require an approach that addresses both the direct and indirect cases. A critical element meaningfully addressing the poverty issue in Rubanda and beyond is enhancing people’s capital sustainability to utilize the available resources to be self-reliant.
