About us

The MBRC the ocean Foundation is a German charity organization established in 2020 to work against the tide of ocean plastic, supporting heavily-impacted communities around the world but in particular in Indonesia and Tanzania to clean up their beaches and coastlines, implementing waste management systems and arranging for the waste to be recycled so that it can re-enter the economy, thereby supporting a zero-waste circular economy.
Educational programmes accompany the projects, teaching both children and adults in the local communities about single-use plastic, its impact on the environment and what solutions exist.
MBRC aims to provide local communities with adequate equipment, infrastructure and knowledge so that they are empowered to protect and preserve their ocean environment both now and into the future.
