About us
Sri Lanka's big sea turtles are on the list of endangered species, and the Turtle Hatchery's goal is to counter that.
It buys sea turtle eggs from locals that would have otherwise been consumed and breeds them in a safe nesting ground. In addition to the breeding, it serves as a place for rehabilitation of injured sea turtles.
