About us

The BEAR SANCTUARY Müritz provides a safe and natural home for abused and neglected brown bears. The sanctuary is located in the North-East of Germany, right in the middle of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Today, 15 brown bears live in the natural forest on a 16-hectare territory. Here, they can rediscover and act out their natural instincts, whether it's roaming through the woods, splashing around in the ponds or digging caves for hibernation – there are plenty of activities for each bear at the BEAR SANCTUARY Mueritz.
