About us

The Marinekameradschaft Scharnhorst Soltau e.V. belongs to the Landesverband Heide im Deutschen Marinebund e.V. (seat in Kiel-Laboe).
The registered and non-profit association is the maritime interest group in the Heidekreis and maintains relationships with other maritime associations throughout Germany (e.g. Hof and Rendsburg) and with the active German Navy. Most of the members are ex-Navy and seafarers who are in the middle of society.
The tasks include political education, the promotion of traditional customs, the care of marines and reservists, environmental, landscape and monument protection (e.g. maintenance of the naval cemetery in Kettenburg) as well as the idea of home.
MK Soltau intends to open a maritime, historical permanent exhibition in Walsrode for political education (including for students and teachers from the region) in 2021 and still needs support for this.
