About us

The BFS e.V. is a nationwide self-help organization that represents the interests of all visually impaired people, regardless of the type and severity of the disability. Since our founding in 1962, we have been campaigning for an equal and self-determined life for visually impaired people in Germany. We offer targeted, real-life advice and support and, as an advocacy group for visually impaired people, we are also actively committed to social participation and equal opportunities in various areas of life. A particular concern and focus of our work is the earliest possible support for visually impaired children and young people. Among other things, we are committed to equal opportunities for schooling, training and further education.
