About us
ELATIA is Kimassai and means neighbour. We want to think globally about neighbourhood by seeing the needs of others and empowering people to realise their dreams.
MAPED, a Maasai-led association in the Southern Maasai Steppe in Tanzania, has a vision of a school for their people to secure the future of their children and their roots through education. This dream impresses us greatly. Even though Tanzania is not a direct neighbour, we want to act like a good neighbour and provide support whenever and in whatever form it is needed. We want to think globally about neighbourhood.
In partnership, we want to provide project-based support through advice, education and financial assistance, especially for orphans who cannot afford school fees. We want to report on the Maasai and their lifestyle and draw attention to the situation on the ground.

Die (ersten) neuen Tische und Stühle sind angekommen!
Dank eurer großartigen Unterstützung ist es endlich so weit: Die ersten Tische und Stühle aus unserer Weihnachts-Crowdfunding-Aktion sind an der Engata School angekommen! 🥳
Die Beschaffung und der Transport haben etwas länger gedauert als ursprünglich geplant. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass die ersten Möbel nun vor Ort sind. Die restlichen Tische und Stühle befinden sich ebenfalls auf dem Weg und werden in den nächsten Tagen geliefert.
Mit den neuen Möbeln haben alle SchülerInnen einen eigenen Platz und alle LehrerInnen einen angemessenen Arbeitsplatz mit Stauraum.
Im Namen der gesamten Schulgemeinschaft möchten wir uns von Herzen bei allen bedanken, die unsere Weihnachtsaktion unterstützt haben. Asante Sana!❤️
