About us

ELATIA is Kimassai and means neighbour. We want to think globally about neighbourhood by seeing the needs of others and empowering people to realise their dreams.

MAPED, a Maasai-led association in the Southern Maasai Steppe in Tanzania, has a vision of a school for their people to secure the future of their children and their roots through education. This dream impresses us greatly. Even though Tanzania is not a direct neighbour, we want to act like a good neighbour and provide support whenever and in whatever form it is needed. We want to think globally about neighbourhood.
In partnership, we want to provide project-based support through advice, education and financial assistance, especially for orphans who cannot afford school fees. We want to report on the Maasai and their lifestyle and draw attention to the situation on the ground.
