About us

10 years ago we were in South Africa for a voluntary year at the Tlholego Farm.
After the closure of the Tshedimosong public school at the end of 2014, classes were cancelled for about 150 children - also for the children who lived with us on the farm.
Therefore, we founded our organisation Tsala ya Africa e.V. and since then, thanks to numerous donors, we have been supporting the children in attending a private but nearby school or, since 2022, also in a homeschooling project on the farm.
In South Africa, homeschooling is a popular solution for providing children with better and safer access to education. The public school system is unburdened and homeschooled children can graduate with the same diploma through certified learning material and exams.
Currently, we support 7 children in homeschooling and 3 children in the fee-based school.
The school education for one child costs us about 150 € per month.
