Engagement for Hamburg's maritime history
Hamburg's history is a maritime history. The Harbour and shipping have shaped the city over the centuries - and are still influential factors in urban development today.

Historic ships and port facilities are among the irreplaceable witnesses of this history. It is the task of our foundation to preserve this heritage and make it accessible to a wide public. To this end, we are mobilising voluntary commitment, private capital and support from politics and business.

Our foundation was established in 2001 by the former Hamburgische Landesbank on the initiative of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. It is a foundation with legal capacity under civil law and pursues non-profit purposes.
