The "Stader Tafel" supplies approx. 2,800 people with food every month through its issuing offices. Even in times of COVID-19, it maintains the delivery of food to a large number of needy customers with considerable commitment on the part of volunteers and observing special, very strict hygiene regulations. For this, special conditions had to be created at very short notice, which cannot be implemented with the normal budget of a foodbank.
Specifically, three stainless steel packing tables (disinfection, approx. € 650, - / piece), large quantities of paper and jute bags for individual issues (depending on the duration of the crisis between € 700 and 1600) and any type of currently extremely expensive protective equipment (masks (FFP2), face shields, gloves and disinfectants - together more than € 2.500, -) are needed for the volunteers. In addition, one of our urgently needed vehicles has failed and needs to be repaired (Estimate € 2.450, -). There are also significant, not calculable and additional costs for equipment and fuel.
