About us
Attika Human Support is an essential part of the support services and value system on Lesvos and beyond serving over 20,000 Asylum Seekers, 45 NGO’s and the local Greek community. The co-founder of Attika, Aris Vlachopoulos, returned to his native Lesvos in 2014. As the refugee crisis unfolded, he became a first responder, assisting arriving asylum seekers on the north shore. When it became clear that clothing, hygiene and shelter were critical unmet needs of the growing population of displaced people, Attika Warehouse was set up in late 2015. The warehouse continues to run the warehouse today and the small seed planted in 2015 has grown into one of the largest aid warehouses in Greece and expanded with a shelter project, a sports project and the Search & Rescue Mission on the North Shore of Lesvos.
