About us
Since its foundation in 2007 the independent, non-profit association Tanz ist KLASSE! e.V. has been responsible for the education program of the Staatsballett Berlin. On behalf of the association, former dancers and dance educators let children and young people participate in their fascinating world of dance and ballet. In events, workshops and projects, they provide insights into the training and rehearsal work and accompany the participants in their first own dance steps.
In order to be able to shape their lives actively and with full responsibility for themselves and others, children and young people must be given the chance to learn the basics of this attitude to life. Dance has proven itself as a tried and tested means for this. That is why we want to integrate this art form into the everyday life of as many children and young people as possible, regardless of social class and cultural background. Since 2007, more than 40,000 children and young people have already participated.
