ORGANIZATION PROFILE

Green Globe Society International (GGSI) is a non-profit, non-government; incorporation as environmental organization in 2005. GGSI’S Unique focus is to indentify with the poor, deprived and marginalized people, mainly women and youth groups in the rural communities to guide, sensitize, animate and transform them, and also to support them fight poverty, hunger, disease, ignorance and injustices of all human deprivation.

GGSI as an environmental organization has been working to meet its objectives by fighting environmental degradation, conserving biodiversity, promoting basic and formal education, and promoting agricultural development. GGSI’S projects executed are, the conservation of wetland and replanting of the endangered mangroves at Keta District in Gbatsivi and Salo communities with- assistance from the London Wet Land Centre (WWT).

In collaboration with Department of Co-operatives, GGSI has also established woodlots plantation at Woe, Aklobordzi, and Atorkor all in the Keta District in the Volta Region of Ghana.
GGSI has also organized training for fish processing groups in group dynamics team management and sourcing for credit.

GGSI has also organized training for Salt iodations team in team management, in collaboration with P. S. I salt and C. I. S. R UNISEF, and developing economic capacity building and training of economic groups.

Currently, GGSI has six members Board of Directors. This is the supreme governing body and highest policy and decision making organ of GGSI. It is responsible for the overall direction of the operational affairs and resources of the organization.
