About us
The four-masted barque PEKING (Ex-ARETHUSA) is a so-called Hamburg Veermaster, the last surviving original
Flying P-Liner to sail the legendary saltpetre route around Cape Horn.
The Friends of the Four-Masted Barque PEKING (Freunde der Viermastbark PEKING e.V.) Association supports the PEKING and its owner, the Hamburg Historical Museums Foundation (Stiftung Historische Museen Hamburg), with its voluntary work on the quay wall and on board.
Since the PEKING was opened to visitors in 2021, the Peking Friends have been conducting guided tours and accompanying events on board.
Even before this, operation and maintenance were supported by members of the association. Furthermore, experts from the association are working on the historical and technical reappraisal of the active sailing period from 1911 to 1932 and the procurement and restoration of objects that were not included in the shipyard contract but are necessary for the faithful restoration and presentation of the ship.
The association's funds may only be used for purposes in accordance with its statutes. Members do not receive any payments from the association's funds.

Ich bin unfassbar gerührt und sprachlos!
Ich möchte mich an dieser Stelle bei allen bedanken, die hier gespendet haben. Jeder einzelne Euro fließt direkt in die Sarkomforschung. Ich hätte nie damit gerechnet, dass an nur zwei Tagen so viel Geld zusammenkommt. Ich habe den Zielbetrag nun schon zum vierten Mal erhöht. Letztendlich gibt es für mich aber gar keinen Zielbetrag - ich bin jetzt schon unfassbar dankbar für die Summe, die bereits zusammengekommen ist. Ich bin sehr berührt von eurer Unterstützung!
