About us
The association was founded in 2009. In the beginning, relief supplies were sent to Senegal by sea and distributed to the needy by Algaf Sene, our first chairman, and his wife. In 2014, the school with 3 classrooms, a common room and sanitary facilities was inaugurated in Mbour. Thanks to a grant of 75% of the construction costs from the BMZ (German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development), the school was able to be expanded by 4 classes just one year later. Currently, 366 children are being taught.
Thanks to BMZ funding, the training centre was able to start operations in 2019. Local craftsmen train young people in the trades of carpentry, metalwork, electricity and tailoring. The extension was inaugurated in June 2023. There are now additional workrooms for the tailors on the first floor, a computer room, a women's counselling service and a doctor's surgery. Doctors from Dakar and Mbour hold regular consultations there.

Schulobst auch im neuen Schuljahr
Am 8. Oktober hat ein neues Schuljahr begonnen und unsere Schule hat aktuell wieder 400 Kinder und ist damit an der Grenze der Kapazität. In den Ferien haben wir das Gebäude wieder etwas renoviert und auch die defekten Schulbänke ersetzt. Aber trotz aller Ausgaben ist es uns weiter sehr wichtig, dass die Kinder einmal wöchentlich Schulobst bekommen. Dafür setzen wir uns ein und werden diese Gelder auch dafür verwenden.
