The Diakonie (Social Welfare Organisation of the Protestant Church) takes care in particular of those people who have physical hardship, mental distress, and are in socially unjust circumstances. It also focuses on causes of these hardships and attempts to remedy them. It stands up for social justice. With this work, the Diakonie is in the living tradition of loving one’s neighbor, which demonstrates and proves God’s love in the world of all people.
The Diakonie is ready to help all people: individuals and groups, people who are in the public view, and most of all people who are forgotten about, both Christians and non-Christians. The Diakonie performs in word and deed – it is an all-encompassing service to Man.
