About us

Support The Elderly Persons (STEP) is a Non-Denominational Christian Non-Governmental and Non-Profit making Organisation offering help to vulnerable older persons and their dependents in Masaka District and hoping to extend to other parts of the country. STEP was founded by Pr. Nabitiri Paul and his wife Beatrice Nabitiri in 1998 and later registered in 2011. We work with individuals and groups of elderly persons across Masaka Municipality - Masaka District of Uganda. We visit their homes, have a one on one talk and provide them with individual basic needs. We have so far reached over 150 homes of the elderly persons. We focus on community strength and resources by raising awareness among communities to help older persons. We want to acquire a 2 acre piece of land within Masaka, establish a service centre which will serve as a call in centre for the elderly, with facilities to provide tailor made services to these vulnerable members of our society.
