About us

Collaborative Action for Change (CAC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established by a group of professionals from diverse backgrounds and registered at District Administration Office (DAO), Kathmandu also affiliated to Social Welfare Council (SWC) in 2014.

CAC, strides to promoting ESC rights (especially in health, education and agriculture sectors) of the people especially from marginalized/deprived communities and to act for optimum utilization of and increasing access to locally available resources by balancing between rights based and need based approaches, aiming to reduce poverty without injustice.

For this, CAC has identified the following three core areas of intervention interlinked to each other. Similarly, the strategic objectives also have been formulated in line with these interventions.

1. ESC Rights
2. Economic Development
3. Evidence-based Policy Advocacy

CAC undertakes the interventions through following crosscutting key actions:

1. Enable and aware the locals especially the needy people
2. Encourage/sensitize the duty bearers to be more accountable and responsive towards their duties and the people
3. Evidence-based advocacy for GESI friendly laws, policies and programs

CAC proactively exerts its efforts for awareness raising on ESC rights (especially in health, education and agriculture sector) for increasing people’s access to local resources including government services and entitlements; capacity enhancement with entrepreneurship culture for better livelihood opportunities; and evidence based advocacy for encouraging/sensitizing the duty bearers to become more accountable and responsive towards their duties and the people as well as for GESI friendly laws, policies and programs related to health, education and agriculture including National Land Utilization Policy, 2069 of the government in compliance with international HR instruments and their effective implementation.
