About us

For over 40 years – Community Work by Bürgerhaus Trier-Nord e.V.

The association “Verein der Nutzer und Förderer Trier-Nord e.V.,” now known as Bürgerhaus Trier-Nord e.V., was founded in the early 1980s. From its inception, the association has been active in the field of social neighborhood development based on the principles of community work.

In the Trier-Nord district, an above-average number of people live in poverty. In our society, those considered poor have incomes so far below the average that they can barely meet their basic needs. They are largely excluded from social participation and dependent on support services.
The gap between rich and poor continues to widen, making poverty a problem for broader segments of society, even if this is often not widely acknowledged. Combating poverty and ensuring participation in socio-cultural life is therefore regarded as a central challenge by Bürgerhaus Trier-Nord e.V.

Community work addresses the specific problems of people in their
