About us

Sukaar Foundation is working since a decade in southern Sindh, particularly in district Tharparkar, with specialization and expertise in WASH especially in emergencies and early recovery. Sukaar is engaged in its regular WASH program in district Tharparkar since last decade with Water Aid Pakistan – it is also implementing WASH focused UNICEF’s interventions in the area. Sukaar has a sound grassroots presence in district Tharparkar. In 2011 flood it remained only organization who had significantly worked in WASH relief response for IDPs of camps in district Tharparkar, particularly in project targeted area.

SF supported around 15000 IDPs (of Tharparkar and of other neighboring districts as well) in camps with package of WASH relief getting support from different donors including Water Aid, IDRF, UNICEF, WFP, WASH Cluster Sindh and others. Sukaar has also established a WASH cluster in Tharparkar district and it leads the cluster in the district. Sukaar has strong relations with District Government Administration, particularly the DDMA District Chair and other stakeholders in the district. SF regularly shares the sectoral information with all concerned stakeholders and keeps them all on board in the activities.
