WE WANT TO PROVE THAT IT IS POSSIBLE TO PUT IN 100MB FIBRE AT A FAIR PRICE IN THE GEOGRAPHIC CENTRE OF THE UK IN A RURAL LOCATION FOR A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF MONEY.
We want to show that it is possible to enable a rural village with high speed internet connectivity using fibre and with that lay a fibre optic cable and connection to conkers in the geographical heart of the national forest. We believe that the rural economy of moira and the surrounding areas could be re-iginited and be a bold statement about using connectivity to bolster the interactions of small rural business to do more business with each other by using the latest technology to alert and make aware people of what is happening around them.
We have started our bold mission by creating a hyperlocal and sustainability twitter tweetup conference every 6 weeks based in and around conkers (@visitconkers and www.visitconkers.com) this would be the hub of where we hope to build in connectivity. You can find more information about the tweetup here - http://conkertu.com
We have a eight separate events arranged for the whole of next year and are really excited about the prospects of this tweetup to the local businesses and we hope to reconnect those businesses in the local area with similar services and promote good ethics of sustainability ethics.
