About us
cewas Middle East addresses global water, sanitation and waste challenges
Water, sanitation and resource management constitute an increasing and pressing global problem. The Middle East faces many challenges related to climate change, dwindling (water) resources, pollution, unsustainable resource management and unaffordable conventional infrastructure. These enormous challenges cannot be solved neither by conventional solutions from the industry nor by development aid alone: young and motivated entrepreneurs with fresh ideas are needed!
cewas Middle East encourages private sector involvement
By strengthening the private sector involvement and supporting start-ups and social entrepreneurs, cewas Middle East contributes to the development and the implementation of sustainable solutions to solve regional water, sanitation and resource management challenges. Our experienced trainers, experts and coaches from our regional and global network can offer support adapted to personal needs, be it in the cewas Start-Up Programme, tailor made trainings and events or project consulting.
cewas stands for sustainability and integrity
All of our work is based on the concept of Sustainable Sanitation and Water Management (SSWM), which focuses on the human influence on the water cycle, its linkages to agriculture and a sustainable use, treatment and reuse of resources (see SSWM Toolbox). Integrity is a key issue at cewas–we closely work with the Water Integrity Network (WIN) and all Start-Ups operate according to the cewas Code of Conduct for integrity in water and sanitation.
