About us

The association RecifEscola has set itself the target to establish schools in the Northeast of Brazil, to run them in partnership with the local authorities (50:50) and to give as many children as possible the opportunity to finish elementary school.
Supplying computer knowledge, accompanying the parents with educational support, classes in handicraft, medical and dental support are also part of the schools’ program. The Swiss section endeavors to ensure the support and the fundraising; the Brazilian sister section monitors the local activities. The aim is to create a program of industrial education e.g. an apprenticeship with a mechanic or a craftsman after elementary school, which allows the teenagers to be guided onwards. A school for 600 children in Igarassu (PE) is already realized, the second school, also for 600 children, is being constructed in Itapissuma.
