About us

The Rroma Informations Centrum e.V. was founded in August 2011.

Its members are Rroma and non-Rroma. It's a Rroma self-organisation.

To date, there's mostly a non-Rroma perspective on our concerns. Buzz words like "not capable of being integrated", "uneducated/not interested in education" and "unprofessional" are dominating, self-fulfilling prophecies.

We want to oppose this machinery and policies controlled by outside forces with self-determined association work. Self-organisation for us means that position in an association like the executive board or the management aswell as project leader positions are staffed with Rroma professionals.

The Rroma members deal with Rroma concerns using their own professions like educational science, social pedagogy, political science and cultural studies, aesthetics. Quality and solidarity are the basic values, defining our understanding of action.

We want to tell and create our history by ourselves. The Rroma Informations Centrum e.V. provides a platform for Rroma activists to raise their voices and show the variety of perspectives on topics like politics, education, art and culture and contribute to the (self-)reflection of society.
