About us

The Care-for-Rare Foundation for Children with Rare Diseases is a legally capable and non-profit foundation. The starting point of our activities is the Care-for-Rare Center at the Dr. von Haunerschen Kinderspital in Munich. We base our commitment on the guiding principle "recognize - understand - heal". We promote research into new rare diseases and the development of new therapies, fund the further training of doctors and scientists, raise awareness of rare diseases and help in individual cases through clinical treatment of children with cancer and children with life-threatening diseases. Of the more than 40,000 patient contacts per year, most children and adolescents suffer from rare diseases. Our values: We build bridges between physicians, scientists and patients, as well as with representatives from politics and culture. Every child should have access to medical care, regardless of ethnic, ideological, religious or financial considerations. We are guided by national and international guidelines on the work of charitable organizations.
