Asociación Pop Wuj (pronounced "pope-woo"), set in the Highlands of Guatemala, is a collectively owned and operated Spanish school and organisation to support the local communities by means of their social work- and medical program in which volunteers get directly involved to support same.
Pop Wuj is a non-profit organisation wholly owned by the teaching staff. After the teachers draw a modest wage and take care of expenses, the remaining income is dedicated to financing the thriving rural development projects and educational endeavors that the school has undertaken and nurtured over the past 18 years.
Most families in Guatemala still cook over an open fire which cause a lot of smoke related illnesses that are one of the leading cause of death among children in Guatemala. With a proper stove it not also prevents these illnesses but also makes their family home a much safer place for children, lowers fuel consumption and improves financial welfare.
We want to make sure the Safe Stove Project continues constructing stoves to help more families in Guatemala.
A donation amount of €1,230.00 was requested for the following needs:A safe stove for 1 family in Guatemala. €1,200.00A safe stove for 1 family in Guatemala. €30.00
