About us

The project "Vergiss mich nicht“ (Don’t forget me) arranges sponsorships for children from families affected by addiction.

Various scientific studies show that children who grow up in particularly difficult life situations (addiction, mentally ill parents, poverty, etc.) have significantly better development opportunities when they have regular contact with a stable caregiver outside the family. This person is not meant to replace the parents but to support them!

The sponsors usually meet with the children once a week for an afternoon outside of their home. During this time, the focus is mainly on doing something enjoyable with the children and having fun. The sponsors offer the children an important adult figure who provides them with attention and recognition. Many of the children are not used to receiving undivided attention for a certain period. Through this interaction, they also naturally learn many social skills that support
