Hathay Bunano is a fair-trade, organic, non-profit charitable organisation which produces a range of handmade cotton toys for children. In Bangla, Hathay Bunano means “handmade” or “hand knitted”. Haythay Bunano’s mission statement is to “create fairly paid, good quality, flexible and local employment for rural women who are poor and often disadvantaged”.
To achieve this ambitious mission it’s continually aiming to bring work to the people of Bangladesh wherever they live, meaning prevention of massive migration to cities and persevering a rural country way of life for many.
The business is particularly proud of the fact that it supports the family unit, particularly keeping mother and child together by providing employment nearby, crèche services for 0-3 year olds and Pre-school’s for 3-6 year olds funded by generous donations. All this helps to start to support Bangladeshi women so that they can work and earn money to support their families.
It's all going to fund the schools in Dhaka and Sirajgonj connected to the Hathay Bunano organisation, with teachers, equiptment and books. It gives mother's working in the textile industry a great start and future for their kids. With so much bad practice and conditions in this industry what Hathay Bunano offers their workers with flexible hours, schooling for their kids and comfortable working conditions is unmatched in Bangladesh and is why I continue to support the organisation 6 years onward.
A donation amount of €180.00 was requested for the following needs:Teachers, Equiptment, Rent for School Building €180.00
