Empower Pak (EP) is a non-profit non-governmental organization registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. EP was established in 2011 by two blind human rights activists who have successfully overcome the challenges of their disability. Our Board of Governors consists of people from all walks of life who believe that respect for the fundamental rights of citizens can only be realized through social, economic, and political empowerment. We invite you to learn more about EP and to support us in any way you can.
Identification of Persons with Disabilities
The UN estimates 10% of Pakistan’s population experiences some form of disability. These persons with disabilities (PWDs) tend to live in isolation, which is neither healthy for them nor for society as a whole. Due to the lack of data on the prevalence of disability in Haripur, EP has engaged in community outreach to identify PWD needs. EP is assisting PWDs to obtain disability certificates and computerized national identity cards to facilitate their fundamental human rights. Faced with the scarcity of financial resources, EP relies on the support of volunteers and individual allies to meet our goals.
An inclusive society in which all persons can exercise their fundamental human rights.
The socio–economic and political empowerment of marginalized sectors of society.
