About us

The Christliche Hilfsverein Wismar e.V. has been helping people in Albania since 1991, especially in the poor mountain villages. In the first years we mainly brought aid supplies to the completely impoverished country. Today many people from all over Germany and beyond take part in our annual christmas and family package campaigns. In addition, we contribute to the improvement of living conditions with long-term projects.

In 2012, we established the "Fondacioni Diakonia Albania" foundation as the local responsible body for our work. From Pogradec, it carries out relief operations, maintains the social projects and helps to improve the educational conditions and municipal structures in the region. This structure gives us an even better local representation and ensures that our work can stand on its own feet in the long term.
