Pearl Women Organization

managed by E. Aoki

About us

Pearl Women Organization (PEWO) was established in July, 2012. The focus is to empower poor rural women add value to their traditional crops of cassava, sweet potatoes, groundnuts, etc for them to earn income and improve their livelihoods and those of their loved ones. PEWO has so far acquired land and constructed a training hall in which women are trained in value addition. The founder provided the seed capital for that purpose. We hope to reach out to 150 women who should after training set up their own micro small enterprises that sell value added products from their crops.PEWO is being promoted by two co-founders: Eri Aoki and Julius Apegu as social enterprise.

PEWO hopes to work with partners who will provide technical support and funding to support the rural women.
