The Moroccan government is controlling the dog population by poisoning and shooting thousands of dogs throughout the country. The Fondation Helga Heidrich SOS Animaux is a non-profit organization that rescues injured, abandoned and mistreated animals in Morocco. All animals are treated by a veterinarian and will be given a new home. In 1995, the first sanctuary was opened for street and working animals. In addition, we operate a rescue center for Berber monkeys and parrots. We are fighting for animal rights together with a team of animal lovers in order to stop animal cruelty in Morocco. The rescued animals receive medical treatment, surgery, vaccines, food and a lot of care - without any exception.
