A stoma changes life, but doesn't make it any less worth living

An ostomy is a disability which is largely taboo in society. Almost 150,000 people in Germany alone live with a stoma without it being visible.

Selbsthilfe Stoma-Welt e.V. is a non-profit support organization for ostomates. We are there for you and helping you to organize your life with a stoma in the best possible way. We offer you helpful information about everyday life with a stoma on our website www.stoma-welt.de, in the social media and in brochures, enable an active exchange of experiences among those affected and relatives and help directly with personal advice.

And we are your voice vis-à-vis health insurance companies, politicians and industry and actively represent the interests of ostomates in Germany. We are not only committed to maintaining the current standard of care, but also to constantly improving it despite tight budgets.
