What’s it about
This September, I am combining two passions — sports and social change. I will take on a cycling tour through Southern Europe, covering between 800–1200 km. Every kilometer I bike is an opportunity to support children in Kenya and Rwanda through handball.
Why Handball in Kenya and Rwanda?
Handball is more than just a sport — it is a tool for education, empowerment, and social change. Together with ONE TEAM, we have been seing the great work of our two local partner organisations Play Handball Kenya and Handball Gorillas Rwanda for years.
🇰🇪 Play Handball Kenya
An NGO that uses handball to promote personal development and social change. During the pandemic, Karol and the team worked tirelessly to support children from families with very few resources. 🤾
🇷🇼 Handball Gorillas Rwanda 🦍
A grassroots NGO that opens access to sports and education for vulnerable children. With Theo and Alfred, we are now running a gender equity handball project in Kirinda, helping girls grow equally through sport. Together with Never Play Alone, the Gorillas are currently improving the general sport infrastructure in Kigali.
Both organizations create real, measurable impact — and I’m excited to visit them in November and report directly from the field.
How You Can Support the Handball Projects:
You decide how much every kilometer is worth:
- Choose your donation per km: from 1 Cent and up to 1.00 €
- Follow my cycling journey: 800–1200 km across Southern Europe from September 4 to September 20
- Donate via this campaign before October 25: All donations will directly benefit Play Handball Kenya and Handball Gorillas Rwanda. The donations will be split equally.

🚴♂️ Radeln für den Sport weltweit – Unterstütze Handball in Kenia & Ruanda
Ich starte eine Radtour durch Südeuropa und werde dabei zwischen 800 und 1200 km zurücklegen. Jeder Kilometer, den ich fahre, ist eine Chance, Kinder in Kenia und Ruanda durch Handball zu unterstützen.
- Wähle deinen Spendenbetrag pro Kilometer: von 1 Cent bis 1,00 €
- Verfolge meine Radreise: 800–1200 km durch Südeuropa vom 4. bis 20. September
- Spende bis zum 25. Oktober über diese Kampagne: Alle Spenden gehen direkt an Play Handball Kenya und Handball Gorillas Rwanda und werden zu gleichen Teilen aufgeteilt.
Du erhältst von mir regelmäßige Updates, und Anfang nächsten Jahres bekommst du außerdem eine Spendenquittung für deine Steuer.

Liebe*r Spender*in,
Wahnsinn, ich bin überwältigt. Insgesamt sind 1.592 €, also 796 € für jedes Projekt, zusammen gekommen. Das hätte ich nie erwartet. Das sind über 50 % mehr als das Ziel, das ich mir gesetzt habe. Ich möchte mich ganz herzlich bei dir bedanken! Die Handball-Community (und natürlich auch darüber hinaus) hat echt gezeigt, was in ihr steckt!
Heute habe ich das Geld an die beiden Projekte weitergeleitet. Mit dem Geld können die beiden Projekte ihre Handball-Infrastruktur vor Ort ausweiten und ihren Trainingsbetrieb weiterentwickeln. Ich freue mich sehr, dass du sie dabei unterstützt.
