Worum es geht

In June 2012, Achim Schloeffel plans to dive through the Channel from Dover to Calais. This unique challenge demands an absolute control of body and mind. But this attempt for a world record includes a further aspect: Achim supports WDCS, the Whale and Dolphin Conservations Society and their project for bottlenose dolphins in the Moray Firth, Northern Sea. With his spectacular dive Achim aims to raise awareness and funds for WDCS's activities in the region.

After 10 hours in water Achim completed his world record in diving through the English Channel from Dover to Calais. He experienced first-hand tough conditions as extremely low sight distance and defeaning noise. Especially noise is an increasing problem for many whale and dolphin populations all over the world.

Congratulations to Achim on his world record and a huge thankyou for his role as ambassador for WDCS's conservation activities for dolphins in the Northern Sea!
