Ride Do Good - Purple Rain Spendenaktion

Yes – we are doing it again! From the 8th of May onwards, my husband and I will drive another Charity Rally with our 25-year-old Renault Twingo now which becomes our dedicated Charity car (yes, we will do it again 😉). 

What does it mean? 

We combine our passion for classic cars, exploring other countries (in this case our own country 😉) and cultures (we are Prussian and travel to Bavaria and Baden-Wuertemberg, so yes – other cultures 😉) with something which is meaningful for our lives and adds value to the lives of others. The Classic Car Rally is called “The Deutschland Rally 2026” and will take us from Hamburg to the Bodensee within 5 days. 1,500 km without any motorways and GPS, only road maps and compass. 

One hallmark of this rally, which will be carried out for the 3rd time this year is for the participants to select a charity for which they will approach their friends and network for donations. 

 

The Amadeu Antonio Foundation has been working for over 25 years to strengthen democracy and actively combat right-wing extremism, racism, and antisemitism in Germany.
The foundation is named after Amadeu Antonio Kiowa, a contract worker from Angola who was brutally attacked by right-wing extremists in 1990 and later died from his injuries. His story remains a powerful reminder of the deadly consequences of hatred—and of the importance of standing up against it.
 The foundation supports hundreds of initiatives, educational projects, and individuals across Germany who are committed to promoting democratic values and opposing discrimination. It also provides support to victims of hate and extremist violence.
 
Today, this work is more important than ever. At the same time, the foundation is facing political pressure, with calls to end its public funding in the future. While no final decision has been made, this situation highlights the uncertainty surrounding its financial stability.
