I ran for Mom and better Research in Cancer Discovery

My Mom's cancer was found in what we though were its early stages. Her dentist saw a sore spot on her tongue and referred her to get it checked out. At this stage her cancer had 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘴𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘭𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘩 𝘯𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴. 

Around 450,000 individuals are newly diagnosed with oral cancers every year. The death rate associated with this cancer is particularly high due to the cancer being routinely discovered late in its development.

The most important part is to treat cancer early and quickly. Maybe this will enable a couple more families to access the treatment we desperately needed.
