Sport changes lives. It builds confidence, resilience, teamwork, and focus—skills that help children not only on the field, but also in the classroom. With stronger motivation, concentration, and self-belief, kids are better equipped to learn and succeed in school.

Yet too many kids miss out. Leading children to struggle with low confidence, poor focus, and fewer chances to build friendships. At the same time, many schools are overloaded: too few teachers for too many children. With large class sizes and stretched resources, it becomes even harder to give every child the attention, guidance, and support they need. Often, children from disadvantaged families receive less encouragement and structure at home, making it even harder for them to stay on track and build confidence.

This event is about changing that. Together, we can open doors, build skills, and give every child the chance to shine—on the field and in life.

“Sport has the power to change the world.” Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s words, Laureus Sport for Good Germany and Austria is launching the Sport for Good Hour—a daily hour of structured sport in schools that helps children build resilience, improve learning, reduce conflicts, and grow in safe, inclusive environments. Every donation supports this mission, giving children the chance to develop confidence, life skills, and hope for a brighter future.
