Ein Geburtstagskaffee für Window of Life

Warum ich mir statt einen Kaffee und Kuchen eure Hilfe für Window of Life und unser medizinisches Programm wünsche, kann Gladys in ihrem Brief am besten erzählen. Dank ihrer Geschichte haben wir das medizinische Programm gegründet. 

Hi, my name is Gladys. I’m 22 years old. 

In 2015, I was 13 years old and paralyzed after an accident. My parents didn’t have the means to seek medical help, so I spent months at home, unable to attend school. It was during this difficult time that Window of Life found me. They provided the support for an operation and rehabilitation, and today, 10 years later, I’m living an independent life, finishing my education as a laboratory assistant, and soon looking for my first job. 

I believe my disability is not inability. I am disabled I can still achieve my dreams!

I’m also proud to be a member of the wonderful Window of Life family. What I didn't know until last January is that because of my illness, Window of Life created a medical program to help more children like me. This program aims to relieve suffering, improve quality of life, and sometimes even save lives.
