Wir radeln, ihr spendet – We cycle, you donate

Wir, das Team von "Wir radeln - Ihr spendet" möchten euch über die Historie und den Hintergrund dieses Projektes informieren. Die Idee entstand 2021 als persönliche Herausforderung von Sebastian Recktenwald und Stefan Blechschmidt, die die gesamte niederländische Küste mit dem Rennrad erkunden wollten. Ihr Freund Daniel Hamann schloss sich ihnen an und sie beschlossen, die Tour mit einem Charity-Charakter zu verbinden. Sie sammelten Spenden für das Projekt "Elternhaus" des Fördervereins für krebskranke Kinder Freiburg e.V. ( https://www.helfen-hilft.de ). Im Jahr 2021 erreichten sie nach 600 km Radfahren und mit der Unterstützung ihres Netzwerks das Spendenziel von 10.000 €.

Im Jahr 2022 schlossen sich vier weitere Hobbysportler dem Team an. Die Tour wurde nun professioneller organisiert und in den sozialen Medien intensiv beworben. Das Team absolvierte die Strecke von Middlebourg/NL bis Le Havre/F, mit insgesamt 600 km und 3000 Höhenmetern. Mit der unglaublichen Hilfe von Freunden und Bekannten konnten 25.000 € Spenden gesammelt werden.

Im Jahr 2023 pausierte das Team aufgrund von gesundheitlichen Ausfällen und beruflichen Veränderungen. Doch im Jahr 2024 sind alle wieder energiegeladen und hoch motiviert!

Vom 28. bis 30. Juni 2024 werden wir nun von Le Havre bis zur kleinen, spektakulären Insel Mont Saint Michel, romantisch gelegen im Wattenmeer der Normandie, fahren. Das Team setzt sich dieses Jahr aus neun Radlern, die sich alle für den guten Zweck einsetzen und ihre eigenen Grenzen austesten möchten, aus ganz Deutschland zusammen. Alle Kosten des Projekts werden von den Hobbyradlern selbst getragen, und die ausgewählte Spendenplattform leitet den gesamten Spendenbeitrag weiter.

Wir bitten natürlich um finanzielle Unterstützung, aber auch um viele motivierende Kommentare in den sozialen Medien, die uns während der Tour unterstützen und Kraft geben. Auch werden wir ausführlich von der Tour berichten und laden somit alle ein, an den vielen Eindrücken dieses Unternehmens teilzuhaben. We, the “We cycle - you donate” team would like to inform you about the history and background of this project.

The idea came about in 2021 as a personal challenge from Sebastian Recktenwald and Stefan Blechschmidt, who wanted to explore the entire Dutch coast by racing bike.

Their friend Daniel Hamann joined them and they decided to combine the tour with a charity character.

The three cyclists collected donations for the “Parents’ House” project run by the Friends of Children with Cancer Freiburg e.V. (https://www.helfen-hilft.de).

In 2021, after 600 km of cycling within three days and with the support of their network, they reached the fundraising goal of €10,000.

In 2022, four more amateur cyclists joined the team.

The tour was now organized more professionally and promoted intensively on social media.

The team completed the route from Middlebourg/NL to Le Havre/F, with a total of 600 km and 3000 meters of altitude. With the incredible help of friends and acquaintances, donations of €25,000 were raised in 2022.

In 2023, the team took a break due to health issues and career changes. But now in 2024 everyone will be full of energy and highly motivated again to Go for a new record donation!

From June 28th to 30th, 2024 we will ride from Le Havre in France to the small, spectacular island of Mont Saint Michel, romantically located in the Wadden Sea of Normandy.

This year the team is made up of nine cyclists from all over Germany, all of whom are committed to a good cause and want to test their own limits.

Very important: All costs of the project are paid by the hobby cyclists themselves, and the selected donation platform forwards the entire donation contribution 100% to the organization.

We are of course asking for financial support, but also for lots of motivating comments on social media to support and give us strength during the tour. We will also report in detail about the tour and invite everyone to share the many impressions of this charity tour, to get a wider reich, hopefully going hand-in-hand with higher and more donations.
