Elli and Otto hike across the UK (2500km/1560mi)

Hi everyone,

sometimes you just need to get „out“. Out into nature, out of your every day life, out of your own comfort zone. I felt the need to do exactly that: Getting out of my daily routine, leaving my regular life behind for a bit and follow my true passion - hiking and backpacking.
I hope to learn more about myself, reconnecting to myself and exploring the world.

My name is Elli and from April 2023, I will be hiking 2.500 km (1600miles) across the UK („End-to-End“). The journey will take me from Dunnet Head, the northernmost point of mainland Britain all the way down to Lizard Point, the southernmost point. I’m going solo, camping all the way with everything I need in my backpack.
But I’m not completely on my own - my rescue dog and adventure buddy Otto (a stray dog from Croatia) will keep me company.

Our hike is not just an adventure for us, but we would love to inspire others and we’re also trying to make the world a better place (if only a tiny little bit).

That’s why our goal is to find people who would like to follow our adventure and support us for every kilometer we’ll hike on our end-to-end hike.
We’ll be raising money for
- the Green Forest Fund, a non-profit organization that works for the preservation of woodland areas, their biodiversity and wildlife and also uses donations for reforestation and to create protected areas
- the WWF which seeks to protect and restore natural habitats, stop the mass extinction of wildlife and promotes the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption

I deeply care about nature, animal rights and I am trying to reduce my impact on the environment and the planet as much as possible which is why it felt right to raise money for these organizations.
We only have one planet! We need to fight climate change, protect wildlife and nature and reduce our carbon footprint.
As a hiker I get the chance to connect with nature in a direct and intimate way and it helped me so much in the past when dealing with mental health stuff. Being outdoors and experiencing beautiful landscapes, fascinating wildlife and stunning views should still be possible for everyone in the future as well.
