Shine A Light - Streams to help our environment

This year we want to Shine A Light on the great environmental work that 'One Earth - One Ocean' is doing!

Our planet is facing a lot of heavy changes in recent years. And plastic pollution is one of the most noticeable ones!
 

Every year around 10 million tonnes of pollution enter global waters. Up to 80 per cent of it originates from land and about three quarters of it are plastic wastes.

Already existing today there is more than 150 million tonnes of plastic pollution in the oceans worldwide. According to studies by the UN by the year of 2050 the weight of plastic pieces will be higher than the weight of all fish swimming in the seas . 

We don't want this! And while everyone can help in their own way with using less plastic and recycling it, we also want to help those that can make bigger changes!
That's where 'One Earth - One Ocean' comes into play. They work internationally to clean up seas, rivers and oceans from plastic and other litter!
